We’re neck-deep in a typically sweltering Philadelphia summer at the moment – my air conditioner is blowing directly into my ear as I type this – so the idea of going back to school is understandably fairly distant to most of us, but comparatively speaking it’s not terribly far away, and the neat article from the New York Times linked below is a pretty good look at how beneficial renters insurance can be for people living in dorms or on-campus apartments.  Some people in such circumstances are covered by their parents’ insurance, either homeowners’ or renters, but – and here’s the important thing – not everyone is. It’s worth doing the research to see whether or not renters insurance is worth adding to your college budget. Because, really, who knows what kind of roommate you’re going to wind up with?
